Intake volunteers directly address the needs of fellow Utahns who contact the ACLU and help us analyze and dissect matters of civil rights and criminal justice. Our office receives around 100 complaints each month, giving volunteers opportunities to collaborate with the ACLU of Utah's legal team on a variety of issues. Volunteers read each letter/complaint, enter it into our intake system, and, under the supervision of the Paralegal, respond to each letter.  We ask that the volunteer commit between 6-10 hours a week for three months. Training is provided. This position is unpaid and works under the supervision of the Paralegal. Although not necessary, you are encouraged to submit a resume and writing sample along with this application.

We encourage and greatly value applications from all qualified individuals without regard to arrest or conviction, race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, marital status, citizenship, disability or veteran status.
