During 2023-2024, Andrea Daniela Jimenez Flores, the Immigrant Rights Fellow at the ACLU of Utah, dedicated her time to conducting thorough research and crafting insightful reports focused on expanding language access in Utah. Her dedication was geared toward empowering individuals within the criminal legal system and protecting voting rights. One of her impactful reports, “Interpretation & Translation as a Right: Examining Language Access Policies Across Utah’s Law Enforcement Landscape,” played a significant role in catalyzing the adoption of new, progressive policies by numerous law enforcement agencies.

This ongoing commitment underscores ensuring individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP) in Utah are fully supported through comprehensive language access initiatives
